Besides the latest from Mumbai, the most interesting news tonight concerns the BNP. The Labour governmentâs policy of overt persecution towards the BNP and other dissenters has backfired, and the BNP is gaining in strength. There are a couple of reports below about yesterdayâs BNP demonstration in Liverpool, which was mounted as a response to the arrest of three party members for handing out leaflets. Thanks to C. How to Prepare Your Hair for the Big Day

Romance Cliches: Covers etc.
November 25, 2008 General Writing  So Iâm thinking about cliche romance covers. You know, heaving bosoms and crap like that. And I know that KEPT is sort of in that cliche cover camp. But it was the highest voted of all the cover options, so I went with it. And I also justify it because itâs an ebook, if anybody reads it in public, few onlookers are going to see the cover image, so no one has to be embarrassed about what theyâre reading. Before I started reading romance, this was my take o

In some places the marriage estate of a woman is indicated by the style of dress that she wears or the new piece that she adds to her garments. In wedding ceremonies, the wedding dress of the bride makes a certain description of her personality and the solemnity of her being as she presents herself into marriage. The above description primarily pertains to the traditional presentation of a

Insulin Pumps In Wedding Dresses!
Six months ago, Chris and I got married. (Holy crap, six months already? I can't believe it's been that long!) When I picked my gown, I spoke with the seamstress about creating a pocket for my insulin pump to hide in all day long. And on my big day, my pump was safe and secure, and so was I. Over the past few weeks, I received emails from other women who had just tied the knot. These two different, wonderful, recently-married women also had their insulin pumps worked into their wedding day

Twins Wiser and Wiserbud Have a Birthday!!
When you dumbasses are done trying to shove a Lincoln Log up your nose, letâs wish our friends wiser and wiserbud a very Happy Birthday. Today is the big day so please make your Birthday wishes extra enthusiastic and obscene. After all, it was wiserbud who, on the âWorst Names for Sex Toysâ joke thread, offered up âDaddyâs Fingersâ. Itâs pretty fucking hard to offend me but that came close. Sicko. We all know that wiser and wiserbud are absent from the Hostages for days, even weeks at a time

A day without rain November 20, 2008
I stood gazing out of the picture window as Jennifer put the last of the tiny flowers into my hair. As if on cue, the rain started falling steadily from an already grey sky. My friend turned me so I couldnât see the rain. Remarkably, I wasnât concerned. I felt totally at peace. My mother came flying into the house, dressed in her beautiful dress of champagne lace, assuring me the rain would stop any minute. Really, I was fine. No heart palpitations, no pangs of anxiety. I was the calmest

A Brief Survey of Wedding Customs
by Fabian Toulouse For as long as the custom of marriage has been a celebrated human custom, there have been curious rituals associated with them. These rituals, at least concerning modern weddings, include such behavior as the groom providing an engagement ring, the bride carrying a handkerchief, wearing a veil, and wearing âsomething blue.â Even the very custom of the bride wearing white seems outdated to most modern couples. Where did all these traditions come from? Before the wedding ever

Rant or Rave: Wedding Fashion Faux Pas
Traditional wisdom dictates that no matter how casual a wedding may be, there are certain categories of clothing guests should NEVER wear. This timeless list of banned items includes white (for men AND women), shorts, super high heels (especially for outdoor weddings), bathing suits and anything sparkly (no one wants to outshine the brideâ"literally!). And yet, in the modern age of underwater weddings, zoo weddings and weddings atop the wings of flying planes, does this classic fashion advice s

How are weddings in Latin America?
Many things are said about weddings in Spanish bodas, matrimonios o casamientos in Latin America; however, I donât think they are very different, in fact Iâd say they are very somber and similar to those in Europe or the States. In brief: church, white dress, rings, rice on the way out of the church. What we should mention is that in some cases the guests are more numerous than planned. Even when the guest list is pretty long due to the fact that families in Latin America are big, some people

Prepare the Wedding Dress
Pangs of worry throb in our souls as we squint at the future. Fear existed before the election; it still exists today. Finances wither away. Battered emotions tear. Bright futures flicker. What will happen to our jobs? Our children? Our liberty? âThere is nothing new under the sun,â but tomorrow still remains a cloud of mystery. (Ecclesiastes 1:9) My thoughts pull to the past. Generations who sacrificed. Those who sacrifice now. I cringe. Hunger is not my friend. Trials are not my plan. Ye

6 Tips To Avoid Common Wedding Bloopers And Laugh Out Loud
by Dr. Kelly Carr Weddings can be funny events. They happen in real time and without much rehearsal. They are filled with high emotions. They are primed for anything. I have performed weddings for 20 years and seen interesting things. The bride was also a mother and it was her second wedding. Her son, a six year old, was the ring bearer. Children always bring an element of surprise. Just as the ceremony progressed almost to the wedding vows, the little boy placed both hand below his belt buckl

Secret Keeper: The Delicate Power of Modesty
Secret Keeper is written for and designed to appeal to teen girls. Written by Dannah Gresh, author of The Bride Wore White, and published by Moody Press, this is a great conversation starter for the young girl in your life who is breaking into womanhood and is deciding who she wants to be and how she was to represent herself to the world. The premise of the book is that we as females have a "secret to keep" in our attempts to guard our bodies by clothing them modestly and with dignity. We, who

Andy was a groomsman in our wedding and has been a constant source of encouragement and laughter since our college years at The Missouri School of Journalism. By DANIEL WOOLLS, Associated Press MADRID, Spain â" A journalist on Friday defended the accuracy of his book that quotes Queen Sofia criticizing gay marriage. The book has irked the royal palace. Spain's king and queen are largely respected as figurehead representatives of the state, and rarely speak out on political or social issues. Veteran journalist Pilar Urbano released the book â" "La Reina muy de cerca," or "The Queen, very close up," â" this week to mark the queen's 70th birthday on Su

T Minus One Week ...and Three Other Weddings
-------------------------------------------------------------------This past week, I've been very much enjoying keeping my body clock on British summer time, going to bed an hour early and getting an extra hour to myself before work. But yesterday, despite being asleep by 9:30pm the night before, I didn't get up early but was rudely awoken by my alarm at its normal time. Confused and disoriented after waking up naturally for the last week, it took me a minute to realise I was both hot and cold,

The continuation of awesome.
I shot my final wedding of the 2008 season, and I cannot think of a better way to end the year. Or a better couple to spend it with: Brian and Lori. You might remember these two crazy kids from their fun engagement session last month. I should have known right then and there that their wedding would be the most unique wedding I photographed. I also figured it would be one of the most fun, and Iâm happy to say I wasnât disappointed. :) They got married at the Houston Mill House in Decatur

I Bought a Wedding Dress!
After months of dithering, I finally went and bought my wedding dress.  I just loved the way I looked in it--I felt like a bride, rather than just a chick wearing a bride costume.  And it's so comfortable, I never wanted to take it off!  As my matron of honor said, "You're glowing."  Here  it is: It's an Amy Kuschel strapless A-line gown, made of silk chiffon lined with silk charmeuse.  It'll be perfect for my late summer wedding. The shop where I bought the gown, Gabriella New York, is featur

Trash the Dress?
Wedding Day Memories: Trash It & Take A Picture Just like hairpins, special-occasion makeup always finds a way to make multiple rounds on your social calendar. A girl can't have too much glitter or liquid liner, even if Halloween and the office holiday party are the only times you uncork those tubes. But what about something really specific....like the giant tulle and satin cupcake of a dress you bought for your wedding? It's sorta only good for one occasion (unless husband

What kind of Bride Are You?
According to Vera Wang on Weddings I am a Romanticist Bride: The Romanticist is ruled by higher passions than the reality of the world around her. She considers life a marvelous adventure and revels in the opportunity to realize her deepest emotions. The Romanticist is transported by a dress. For her, fantasy is always a reality. Her innate femininity and love of beauty can inspire a gown of great fragility and enchantment. ⢠Delicate ruffles, billowing sleeves or a lavish, fully-bustled trai

Cadence & Jesse | Newport, Rhode Island
First, I am overjoyed to be finishing up my final wedding for 2008. Iâll be second shooting at least one more time this year, but second shooting is like putting the cake in the oven, then eating it when your best friend is the one who shopped for and bought all the ingredients, then measured out and mixed for you. Second shooters get to do all the fun stuff, maybe crack the eggs and lick the spoon, and the other person does most of the hard work Anyway, it is a joy to present the images

If You Had One More Day
By Randah R. Hamadeh - Daughter, if you had one more day And the Lord allowed you to stay I would have kept you in my arms And kissed you more than a thousand times I would have told you how you make me proud And shoutedâ I LOVE YOUâ out loud I would have thanked you for every little thing And the abundant joy, you used to bring I would have told you how thoughtful you are Watching over everyone from heaven, like a star I would have apologized for causing you any dismay While discip

Wedding Wednesday - Unique Fuchsia and Lime Bridal Shower
Happy Wedding Wednesday! This week Kati and I have chosen a new Prentiss Douthit invitation. This invitation mixes a bright pink and green floral design and a light blue floral design divided by dark brown vertical stripes. This unique and lovely invitation needed a equally unique shower theme. - My first (and probably favorite) selection was this reception decor featuring patterned and plan floral balls floating in the pool. In the distance of this beautiful outdoor setting you can see table

Joshua's heart
From his castle, Joshua watched as a candle moved among the mist in the forest down below. He was fragile and weak but was able to slowly make his way closer to the window. The wet, night air blushed his cheeks and his body, weakling his hallow chest. The candle had moved away from the castle. As the mist grew thicker, Joshua lost sight of it. But then it appeared again and soon disappeared as it slowly swayed toward the unknown part of the forest. Joshua went back to lying in bed but could not

So, session seventeen almost didnât happen! We went back and forth on scheduling a few times, there were styling appointments to change and fire house schedules, and my week was booking up fast. Luckily Carrie was able to get everything straightened out and we were able to have a fun session in Newburyport involving the Fire Station, fire trucks, and the gorgeous autumn leaves. Youâre a Professional â Dress That Way!
Several years ago, when I was accompanying a friend to get his first Capitol Hill press pass, I handed him one the disposable razors I keep in my car and said, âYou need to run this over your face.â âWhy?â he asked? âItâs a simple matter of respect,â I told him. To this day, he gives me a hard time about it â" but he did get his credential. Maxims like âdress the partâ, âdress for successâ and âdress for the job you want, not the job you haveâ all carry the same message: your attire matters, an
